TOTAL FITNESS – GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING

Simple effective general fitness training using bodyweight exercises and kettlebells. There are two types of session: Group Personal Training or Open Training.

Group PT

Group Personal Training combines the best of one-to-one personal training and group classes. Sessions are limited to six people per class to ensure that the trainer can work with everyone effectively. The group works to a similar program but each person might have variations in the techniques and intensity depending on requirements. Group PT provides a fun and supportive atmosphere that is cost effective for participants.

Open Training

The gym is open for your use. Follow your own training program or complete the workout of the day. Open sessions can be attended by anyone who has gone through the Training Intro process (see below). There is no instruction given during these times.

Please book your place in advance via text message. You can come without booking a place but all classes will be capped at 6 people.

If the current classes are regularly full or if you have any requests for specific times please get in touch.

Open Sessions

Open sessions can be attended by anyone who has gone through the Training Intro process (see below). There is no instruction given during these times.

Training Intro

Everyone who wants to take part in open sessions or classes will need to go through Training Intro. This will involve one or more one-to-one sessions. The number will vary depending on your goals and current abilities. If you are active and pick things up quickly one session might be enough. If not I offer an introductory deal of three reduced price one-to-one sessions, which will usually be sufficient for you to progress to the group classes. This is not a commercial gym where a screening and induction can be carried out in an hour. In these gyms most of the machines hold you in position to minimise risk while you are training. These gyms use this approach because little instruction is needed and risks are low. Unfortunately, machine training can be tedious and has limited benefits. Our methods include kettlebells, barbells and bodyweight exercises which require a little more instruction. I don’t take this approach to squeeze money out of people, I am sure there are quicker ways to get rich than personal training! I have found this is just the best way of doing things. Your first one-to-one will be included in your first months training.
